I have seen a lot of different companies advertising cermamic coatings for headers. Would like to see others experiences in what has lasted.
Everybody raves about Jet Hot. They are very expensive in comparison to Cradin Industries or Aesthetic Finishes. I am conisdering a new Thunderheader and would like to have a satin black lifetime finish added immediately after purchase. Not sure what route to take. Any and all comments on you ceramic exhaust finish experiences are appreciated!
I've had three pipes coated, 2 buy HPC, and 1 by a Aesthetic Finishes. Aesthetic, has also done all of my powder coating. They do a great job of powder coating, wasn't that impressed with the ceramic job that I got.
I think the cost difference in my opinion is the prep work that goes on the pipe before it is ceramic coated, HPC told me that they strip the chrome off and take the pipe down to bare metal before they put the ceramic on. I don't think Aesthetic, can strip it down to bare metal. But that was three years ago maybe it's changed by now.
I can tell you this...
My buddy has a Thunderheader in black and it's already pitting...about 4000 miles on it.
I ran a black Bassani Road Rage for 18,000 miles...it was still black when I sold it.
