New swingarm? I have a 140 on my 02 Firefighter Road King and its a very tight fit, doesn't rub but looks like it could. Hope this helps.

I am in the process of fitting a 2007 swingarm to my 1990 bike and have a 150 wide tyre on the wheel I have yet to fit. With an original wide belt clearances are very tight and I reckon on using some spacers behind the rear pulley which should give me about 1/8" clearance between tyre and belt. Changing to a later spec narrow belt will give a further 1/8", but will need a new rear pulley. 150 is the widest tyre that can be fitted to a 3" rim.

So that is as wide as you can go without too much trouble, although I have yet to finish installing mine. To fit a 180 will require a wider rim, probably a wider swingarm and I reckon an offset gearbox pulley. It might just be possible by converting to a chain drive. Hopefully someone will drop by who has done it!

I put a later model rear pully and belt (1.125" wide) on my 03 bike and a 150/18 rear tire. It has good clearance but you would have to change the rear fender if you go any wider, I "kicked" around going with a "Zippers" chain drive kit so I could go bigger but I had already painted my bike and didn't want to go thru that again. I wanted to put a 180 tire on but just couldn't justify the $2500-3500K cost of most kits. Chain drive and new rear fender is gonna be the least expensive. O'yea, I only have about 1/8-3/16" clearance between my fender and tire on the left side, for some reason most of the 02-04 bikes rear tire and fender are not centered, good spacing on the right side not so good on the left.
