Can someone clarify the difference between fork bottom tubes for touring models from 2000 and up? I keep reading different opinions with some suggesting they are all the same from 2000 and up and others suggesting there are differences. I assume that there is a difference between a 2009 SG with ABS and a 2009 SG with out ABS but don't really know.
I have a 2009 SG without ABS and want to buy a set of used bottoms to have chromed. I have come across a set from a 2010 RG with ABS and according the part numbers on the inside of the tubes, they are infact identical.
They are the same. The reason so many people think
they're different is because of the part numbers in the HD parts book. The part numbers are different because of the spacers not the forks.
There is no difference from 2000 and up for the fork lowers. They all use the same -00A pn#'s. The insides have changed a bit through the years with air, dampers, etc.
