And dont ask me why they put a race tuner to see if it would fix it I told them not too.
race tuner? as in sert? did they charge you for it? thats actually a pretty cool thing if you can find a dyno tuner who is very knowledgeable about them. you could get yourself a great tune without having the piggyback modules (not that they are a bad thing, just less to go wrong...)

I agree 100%. If they didn't charge you did get a sweet deal.
I have an 08' RG that I have changed the grips and the bars on. I have 20,xxxmi on it so far without one issue. I can tell you from experience though, any electrical componant has the possibility of going bad, things just don't last forever.
My twist grip sensor wore out at a little over 35,000 on my 08. The only way I knew was the check engine light. Otherwise the bike ran fine. Rode it to the dealer, and repaired under warranty. It took the service writer longer to check the bike in than it did for the mechanic to replace it. I was in and out in less than 45 minutes.
I love the throttle by wire. Couldn't have kept riding if it would have been a throttle cable that broke.
I haven't heard about any ongoing issues with the TBW on the '10's that have been left alone. The only probs I've heard about are with the ones that have had new grips installed etc.
