Ya don't really realize how good it actually is,........ untill you look at a couple of the other "Harley" forums!
AMEN! One in particular I browsed thru, nothing but cursing, dirty jokes and references to herd membership. BTW I don't have anything against dirty jokes.
This forum is great! i cant tell you how much i've learned from reading from both the experienced members and new guys posts. Sure beats the old trial and error method that usually costed me alot of money.
Yep, I really feel pretty much the same way. You can really get some good poop, and I never log on that I don't get a smile from some wise acre crackin' on someone else for a silly mistake. All in good fun, great group of folks. And it really helps the cold winters pass by.
hey robert - i have an 81 fxb. im selling it as it has 125k miles and has been around but it still starts right up, leaks like it should and is amazingly quick and responsive. i would have kept it for a while longer, but i didnt feel like i wanted my son to ride it with the brakes. one you ride on comtemporary brakes, its kinda scary what we relied on to stop us on these older bikes.

So true. The last "new" bike I rode was my '81 Shovel. The brakes, smoothness of cruising current highway speed limits, handling...I could go on. But, I still love my shovel. No disrespect to Evos, but my Shovel has "a sound" that cannot be duplicated by an Evo. To me, Shovels just have a "sweet" sound about them.
I have been riding bikes since I was awee lad, but just bought my first HD a few months back, and I feel like I am just entering the motorcycle world! HD guys (and gals) are a different breed from the import riders. I found this forum about a week ago, and I am amazed at the amount of information available on here. I have been involved in other forums in other sports, and they don't compare to this one. This has become my first stop when seeking out information and opinions on accessories and modifications I am interested in. Great forum!
