Default Passanger Running Boards ???

I have A 09 Road King (See Sig Pic)

When I have to Manuver (walk) the bike I am constantly hitting the back of my legs on the passanger running boards (Yes the are Folded Up).

90% of the time I ride by myself and to cure the problem I have remove the passanger boards, But of course when the wife want to go I have to put them back on.

Is anyone else having this problem and have you found a fixes to correct the problem.

Thanks

I've bumped 'em a few times. Not a big deal, part of ownership for this style bike.

I've never got so irritated that I removed them though.

Nice ride, leave 'em on and you'll get used to working your way around them.

The only time that bothers me is if I try to walk the bike FORWARD...the simple fix for THAT is don't do it. I try to ride the bike to where I want it. About the only time I ever walk the bike while astride is turning around in the garage upon arriving home, which I still have the scoot running....I use the motor to go forward and just walk it backward a couple times....The only other time is parking at a bar, etc.....pretty easy to back it up.

they only suck when the OL leaves them down and i'm not expecting it. otherwise, don't walk the bike anywhere. you got a 20k motor right below your ****, use it.

Hey Texas Rapier,
It does happen to me from time to time. I've actually gotten used to it. But, you don't. I'd say you can either get adjustable boards that rotate at the base. This way you can move them up and back when not in use. OR... Adjustable air suspension system so you can lower the bike whenever you need to maneuver it while your feet are on the ground.
Just my 2 cents...
