Question Help on tire conversion?

Will a 130/90-16 67H tire be the same as a MT 90 B16 72H? I have this IRC tire from my other bike I sold....Thanks!

You're in Touring, so I assume you have a dresser? It will fit, but the load rating of 67 is lower than the normal stock MT tyre of 74. The H is the speed rating, which is OK. If you only ride solo you may be OK, but if you often ride 2-up or close to the weight limit of your bike I would not use it.

I prefer Avon tyres and use their Venoms. I wrote to them with a query a year or so ago and they advised me to use their 140/90x16 as it has a higher load rating of MU/77. When my wife and I are on board and loaded for a touring trip we are close to the maximum vehicle weight and Avon say an MT tyre is marginal. I have just fitted one of their 150/80x16/MU Venoms and am sorting out clearances for the extra width!

Avon's website has more information that most of the others, where you can find what the load numbers actually mean. Look under 'Technical' on the left of the screen.

Thanks for ur help! I'll keep the IRC tire for a spare since it's new and my wife rides her own bike. I have an Ultra, but always ride alone except for putting a few extras in my bags.
