I just thought i would ask to see if anyone has had this problem. I have a 2007 Ultra Classic and I have not rode it for about 2 months and it has been on a Battery Tender the whole time well I went to start it and it has power all the lights are bright but the starter will not work. I did some reading and from what I can tell there is a problem with the security system, the key light in the gauge stays on and the signals flash. Did the security system go bad or is there something I can fix or do I have to take it to the dealer? Once in a great while it will start but if I shut it off the next time it won't. Thanks Al
Did you check to see if the kill switch is off? I never turn mine off but every once in a while someone will come along and turn it off without me know it. How about the the main fuse.
Had this problem on my 07 with only 2000 miles. Push started it and got it too the dealer. They tapped the top of the starter with a long extension and it started right up. they did install a new starter and I have not had a problem since. Have 29000 on it now.
Also some have had the bolts that hold the starter on come loose and you loose the ground. Might check these. But be sure and unhook the the battery before messing with the bolts. If you ground it you will get an arc. Hope this helps.
On my '03 ultra, if you take the batteries out of the fob, it needs to be rematched to the bike (at the dealer). You can still start it using the turn signal code to deactivate the security system

Why cant he reprogram the fabs to match the security system?
SBFD8........I am not sure which year HD changed the fobs from the push button to the constant transmitter..... but if the fob is not disableing the security system, like 1plumr1 said, get your manual out, and use the turn signals to deactivate it. If you did not install your own code, then it should still be set on the factory default. Good Luck, and let us know how this turns out.
