Default It's stuck and i can't get it out!

I need some help with a problem with my radio on my 2009 Street Glide. I had connected my iPod to the radio using a plug-in cord that was plugged-in to the auxillary plug port on the radio. When I disconnected the plug from the radio, the metal tip on the end of the plug broke off and remained stuck inside the radio plug port. I tried using a tiny screwdriver to remove it, but I couldn’t get ahold of it to pull it out. The dealership said they may have to send the radio to the manufacturer. I’d rather not have to remove the radio; so I’m hoping someone on this website may have a good suggestion for me to get the broken piece out. Thanks.

I would square the end of a large paper clip and add a drop of either super glue or JB Weld to it. Carefully reach it in the hole and hold it til it sets on the end of the broke plug. Let it set maybe an hour. Then try pulling the broken plug end out.

Yup, I second what Pope said.

Worked for me with Super Glue.

Bummer
Good ideas, glue sounds scary though, maybe last resort. How about a tiny brush like ones used on dental floss tools? They come in real small sizes and might grab while pulling out. Or maybe a very small ruber coated (insulated) wire nick it up a bit with a knife? It depends if it's just laying in there or stuck good. If it's really stuck/plugged in there, glue might be your only choice.
You'll get it, just take your time. Sending in radio will be a pita.

I'd try the small dental type pick idea a bit and if no go, JB Weld and a sturdy paper clip and it'll come out or it should!

Might be a good time to get inside the fairing and pull out the radio and pull off the face of the radio and see if you can get it out that way. While you're at you might as well do what ever else you've been wanting to do inside your fairing too, or you can try the way that pope mentioned. Your call. Let us know what you did and or what worked.

You're going to have to take the radio apart to get the piece out of the plug.

I agree.May not be hard to do.
Or just send it to Iron Cross and have it upgraded at the same time.I bet the dealer would charge a lot anyway.
