Due to the fact that my bike is very soon to be bought back, I sat down and made a list, including prices, of all the accessories that I have added to the bike since last October when I bought it.
Genuine HD accesories....$3444.45
Other accssories....$2269.80
Not including tax and labor!
The HD rep assures me that I will not lose anything....I sure hope not....I can't afford to do this again!
Sorry, I thought everyone had been keeping up with my plight. 7 repair attempts to fix an oil leak, bad vibration ( still ) at 2500-3000 rpms, and my radio still does not work. After all the problems and time without my bike, the rep decided that I deserved a new bike. It should be here sometime this next week....

$5714.00 won't be hard to make up for HD for additional cost of the Ultra and a few accessories! Now you'll have to figure what your "allowance" will let you add to the Ultra when you get it.
I let a friend of mine ride my Road Glide yesterday......he rides an almost stock Ultra. Wanted to see what the differences were. He came back absolutely stunned by the performance of my bike versus his..........scared him! And he really liked it on the highway.........sold him on the RG. So I guess your "deletion" from the fold will be negated by his addition.
Good luck with your new ride...........glad they did right by you.
I love the ride of the RG. Best high speed stability, hands down. No hands at 100 mph is no problem. I hope that I will not be sacrificing too much of that high speed stability with the EGUC. I know it will not be the same, but this is an excellent opportunity for me to move "UP" to a nicer bike, and not lose anything in the process. Now remember, in my opinion, the RG is a nicer bike than the UC, but us Roadie fans are few and far between....
Of course! The guy that rode my bike could not decide between a new RG or another Ultra for replacement. He never used the CB/intercom. Usually the uninitiated are surprised that form does follow function.....and many are converted. Ken will add lowers and a tour pak........and have all the luxury he wants.
You are doing the right thing on the swap........but you'll come back eventually.........and all will be forgiven!
What is this vibration you speak of? I just started to get a very sharp vibration on my 06 RG. When I have my feet on th boards it feels like I have my feet in one of those vibrating foot massagers! I now have 4000 mi on the bike and I'm taking it in to put the second new motor mount in! I hope this isn't going to be a continuing problem!!
Glider....you describe my vibe exactly! Every time you get between 2500 and 3000 rpms, everything ( especially the floorboards ) starts this tingling buzz. I know that it is not normal ( despite what HD says ) because it only started a couple of thousand miles ago. It was not there from the very start. If this had been my only problem, I would most likely be fighting a losing battle. With all the other trouble I have had.....it is a little different.
