ashmarc, I was talking about the lower liner you're right, it strayed to the upper. I guess I have to look closer at the factory lower liner to see if it is rigidly formed. I just thought it was made out of a floppy material.
I have the factory insalled lower piece and I installed the tour pak lid liner and saddle bag liners. I added additional double sided tape to begin with because I could tell the original tape was not going to be sufficent. I like mine alot, you can store alot of gear and stuff in them. Cords, cable ties, shock air pump, tools, flash light, charging cords for phones and Ipods, jiffy stand pad, windshield cleaner, etc...
I bought the HD King Tourpac lower liner. I comes with velcro squares. The liner sticks to the velco so there is no need to glue any on it. I bought some bigger pieces to hold it better. Just keeps it from moving up on one side or the other. I haven't done anything with the lid yet.
Now that everyone has had the Spring and Summer to ride, I hope you don't mind that I have jumped into this Thread.
I just bought the new lower liner for my King Tour Pak and it seems to be too large for the trunk.
I called the dealer for help because it does say that this is a dealer installed part, but, no one there could tell me how to shrink this and make it fit.
Again, I hope no one minds my jumping on but the info will certainly be appreciated.
I looked in the parts catolog and was thinking of getting the drop in (rigid) liner for my EGC. It really does complete the look of the tour pak. Would keep things from sliding around and protect the walls.
So I guess that your's drop in and fit OK? No clamps, no jumping? Mine came in a plain box with no instructions or velcro or ? Pushing down on the left make the right pop up and visa/versa.
The drop in gray liner does not use double sided tape. The lid organizer does. Since I have the top chrome luggage rack I drilled 4 holes that matched the studs on the luggage rack with velcro stuck to the double sided glue.. No problems
dd
+1 on drilling holes to match the luggage rack. Tag says 5 lbs. maximum weight. It won't hold it's self up for very long! I've used every type of epoxy/glue in the hardware stores...nothing seems to stick to the PVC lid.
I drilled holes in the lid organizer and used fender washers to hold it to the lid with the tour pak rack mounting nuts. The 2 sided tap it came with suck a$$!!!
The linerfor under the lid has much less velcro than is needed. No big deal, added some more of my own and stays there now but HD should have added more on their own.
