With a few mods you can fix the heat issues. Get the '10 I like the tail lights on the '10. Also the 2-1 exhaust so it has a little more power. I think supposedly the '10 has a bunch of changes to the frame so it rides better.
I don't think so.......09 & 10 frames are the same.......
My personal preference is the 09. I do not like the single brake light on the 2010 ( I like to been seen when braking or in bad weather ). I also prefer the dual exhaust on a bagger. You can change the head pipe out on the 2010 and to go dual, but with with the 09 slip ons are all that is required. If you like the single exhaust you will still most likely want to change the head pipe because of extra heat caused by the cats. And finally you can probally get a better deal on a 09. Unless there is a particular color you are looking for I see no improvements with the 2010. I had fith gear whine for the first 500 miles ( wasn't bad just noticable), broke it in 2 up in the hills of Tn and now I have to look down at the speedo to see if I am in 6th.
In addition to what everyone else has already said, the 2010 RG has an 18 inch front wheel and the fairing was adjusted by close to an inch, I think down but not sure. Other than the fairing, its a streetglide.

Other than the things mentioned, someone said the '10 RG has an 18" front tire, so does the Street Glide, I think from what I am reading, they really did just take the SG and put the sharkenose on it! LOL
I do love my '10 SG. Also, I am liking the 2-1 exhaust now too. Just need a slip on for it, it's way tooo quiet! LOL

Ahh... OK I couldn't remember if they changed it in '09 or '10. My friend has an '08 and mine rides better than his. I also like the wider rear tire but I guess for this thread since the '09 and '10 are probably the same.
There are no '09 SGs left in any of the dealers around me. There was one but it didn't have the options I wanted so I ended up with the '10.
You can install Harley vented lower fairings on the 2010 Road Glide, but not on the 2009. Lower fairings and new windshield eliminates wind buffetting. Very happy with this setup on my 2010 FLTRX.
