I currently have a 01 RKC, and I found a same deal on 2 bikes, One is an 04 V-Rod 2900miles, and a 01 Road Glide with 14k miles, should I just double up on the Touring to get the fairing and radio? or is the V-rod a wild ride that will satisfy the need for speed?
I had a vrod before this bike and it was a great bike, had to get rid of it because my wife wanted to start riding again. If the king is all you need/want for touring I would get the vrod for sure.
What were you looking for when you found those?
Have you ridden them (or bikes like them)?
Honestly I didn't care for the V-rods with the feet forward seating position. Just felt a little strange. Mid controls felt better. They feel speedier than other Harleys but many metrics are more likely to satisfy the need for speed.
It also sounds like you want a radio. The RG will be better than any radio you can add to your RK. I'd also guess taht if you have it you won't ride the RK much.
If they are great deals get both and sell your RK. If not think about it for a while, there are more out there.
If you already have a RKC and feel the need for speed, although I have not ridden one, I think the V rod is pretty hot. Why get another cruiser when you can make the king do just about anything any bagger will do, appearance wise?
