Can anyone recommend some 3/4 helmets for women that have built in ear pockets to accomodate a helmet intercom system? I have looked at several women's helmets at the HD store near me but none had recessed ear pockets for the intercom speakers?
Has anyone used the Nolan 42E with the Harley intercom headset (which she already has) rather than the N-COM intercom system?
although I'm not a woman nor do I have the Nolan; I have an HJC FS-3 that I installed a Scala Rider in; works perfect. I had also installed th HD system in it before I had the Scala; it was great too. I also like this helmet because it comes with an interchangeable clear shield or sun visor. A dark tinted shield is a cheap add on; I think I paid about a $150 including the dark tint shield from a seller on Ebay.
Can't help with info on the Nolan. My wife uses the HD Skyline 3/4 helmet with the HD headset. She has no problems with the ear speakers, even when wearing earrings.

Thanks--we might not have seen the Skyline yesterday at the HD store so will check it out.
I just received my HJC AC-3 Carbon Fiber helmet from etremesupply.com and I couldn't be happier. It will accomodate the communication systems, and it's light, nice looking and very comfortable. Sorry about no pictures, my camera bites. But I'll try and give you a link to see it.
That's the best price I could find anywhere on the net, and it's free shipping. No affiliation with them, they were just great to work with. I called in the order and had it on my doorstep 4 days later. FED EX tracking number came the next day. So FWIW, that's another option for you. Their sizing was also right on the money. HJC makes helmets for Harley, and fortunately my dealer happened to have this exact helmet in plain black so I was able to try it on for the correct fit. Harley's version in black was $40 more than the Carbon Fiber one I got. And they're almost $100 less on line. But then again I don't have "Harley Davidson" decals on mine. LoL

That's a great price. Helmet is for men but it might work for a lady. I will look for this helmet when I return to HD store. That is one light weight at around 2 3/4 lbs.
Best thing to do is have you (or her) try on the different helmets in person. Doesn't matter it comes with, or without, if you/she isn't going to wear it because it doesn't feel good on the melon.

Totally agree--just trying to narrow down the search somewhat. I just finished having to do the ice cream scoop fix on my new Harley helmet--got rid of tremendous pressure right at front of head.
Nolan makes some top-quality helmets that are specifically for the purpose you describe and they of course sell a great intercom system for those lids.
There are some very good stand-alone intercom systems that work with almost any helmet. If you're researching, you've probably seen a few.
