I just got through putting the chrome fork lowers on
my 2009 Ultra, have wanted to for some time but have
been double-clutching as they are said to not clear the
Ultra lowers. I saw a Ultra with them on yesterday and
decided to get some for mine, they DO clear as they
are slotted for adjustments. pic attached.
The pics are with the bars turned all the
way to the stops, there is never a time
that I have had the bars all the way over
while moving. I have not gotten to ride
with them yet but hopefully will soon.
I remove the chrome wind deflector because I didn't know they were adjustable. They weren't right and I scapped some paint off of my freshly painted lowers.
I finally got to get out and ride some today
and check out the lowers, they worked great.
I have always gotten quite a bit of wind when
I kick my feet out on the hiway pegs before
but now my pants stay still, I was very surprised
at how much they changed the wind flow around
the bike and me. I am pleased!!!!
They are HD, as listed they fit flht and flhtc
but are not to fit on Ultras as they say they
will not clear the lowers on the bike. I saw
a set on a Ultra at the stealer and liked the
way they fit and I bought a set and tried them.
they are adjustable as the bolt holes are slotted
and they use the existing bolts on the bike. I
played around a while to get them adjusted and I
am well pleased after riding today.
Been running them on my '07 since almost new. Work great, look good, and do not rub if adjusted properly. If the slotted hole is not long enough to make the wind deflectors clear the lowers, elongate it a bit more with a round file and it can be adjusted OK.
Now add the wind deflector that goes between the forks, you'll be good to go.
