SE stage 1 set-up
When i bought my bike i had SE slip-ons and a different air cleaner so i assume someone did a stage 1 setup on it. Question is the actual breather element is blue(the rubber around it), is that cleanable and re oilable(not sure if thats a word) or is it just cheaper to buy a new element and also do the colors mean anything cause a friend has one and the element is black( the rubber around it that is).

Your buddies might be a K&N. Is the filter itself redish in color? If so, then it's probably a K&N which uses a red filter oil in a spray can. As for the one you have as long as the filter element itself isn't paper, you should be able to clean it and re-oil it. Most re-oilable elements are foam or some sort of cotton. Use a mild soapy water solution and soak the filter in it. Try not to let the dirty water get in the clean side of the filter. Lay it in a tray of water a couple of inches deep. Dry it real good and spray it with K&N oil.
