I'm gonna bite my lip here, and not say what's really on my mind.

Do we really need to be supporting counterfeiters?

Not trying to start a S*$T storm, but are they calling them Genuine Harley Parts? Because if they aren't then it's not counterfeit, it's after market.

Here is a quote directly from the e-bay auction:
Perfect quality aftermarket parts. (not OEM parts).

If you follow the link to the other thread, you will see the HD logos imprinted on them. That makes them counterfeit. Unless the moco gave them permission. It doesn't mean anything that the seller is listing them as aftermarket. Another poster also said that they had fooled a mechanic at his dealership.

Aftermarket is HoggChopps. No one would mistake them for genuine HD parts. How many people could tell the difference with these. How many people that buy these will disclose to the next buyer that they are aftermarket? With all due respect, I see your point, but I don't agree.

I'm also not interested in getting in an internet argument about this. I've said what was on my mind, and I'm not going to post again to this thread. thank you.

I wanted to get back to everyone that is interested in these lowers. I can HONESTLY tell you that they are perfect as far as i am concerned. I really like supporting our own brands but IMHO this makes perfect sense to keep and extra 350.00 dollars in my pocket to spend on other items for my HD. No reason for pics they are perfect and look brand new. I am very pleased.

I really like supporting our brands.......................as long as it's painless, convenient, and doesn't cost me a dime? Otherwise I'll burn 'em and when they lose their jobs and homes I'll be glad I saved the money so I can have more toys?

Ok guys have you been to the HD dealer in the last 10 years and looked at all the HD accessories in the dealers. Now look where they are made, I do not like it and try to do my best to buy american when I can but HD is selling so much of there accessories that are made in China that if this is a decent product for a fair price, not the over inflated price that HD gets then by all means go for it. If they are counterfit than that is up to the MOCO to go after this company for. We are just trying to save a little bit and buy aftermarket parts. Just my

To each his own. I havent brought a HD shirt, boots, nor hat from a authorized HD store that wasn't made in an Asian country. Just look at the tag.. The best price/quality products gets my money most of the time. just my $0.02.

I agree with you on Harley's pricing, and their moving more and more jobs overseas disgusts me also. At least Walmart (where I refuse to shop) screws the Country and passes the savings along to you while the MoCo simply keeps it and charges extra.
But what has that go to do with stealing? I don't have much respect for one of my neighbors, but that doesn't mean it's OK to steal her lawn mower.
They obviously made molds right off of Harley lowers and were brazen enough to not even sand off the H-D numbers first. There's only one reason folks steal and counterfeit goods for resale-people with no morals will line up to buy these goods and chew through the butt of the guy ahead of them to get to the front of the line. The ones who feel bad about doing something they know is wrong will come up with all sorts of reasons to justify it, others just shrug and grin.
I can't afford a lot of things-so I go without. Nobody's bike won't run without these ripoff lowers, if folks can't afford the real deal maybe they should save up for them or do without instead of supporting thieves. Maybe toss on a set of soft lowers, or scout out the swap meets for a good left & right one? Nah, let's all get in line and grin.
I had at least one product I designed for another company get ripped off like this. That company paid me thousands of dollars for hundreds of hours of work. Some assclowns made a mold off it and are selling them for peanuts. I think the original company was greedy and overcharged for the product, but that's no justification for stealing. The other guys could've put in hundreds of hours like I did and made their own product, 'course then they wouldn't be able to sell them for peanuts. It's hard to go for weeks/months without a paycheck while designing a new product line. How many thousands of hours and dollars did harley invest in the original designing of these lowers compared to the thieves that just pulled a mold?
Makes me puke.
