If its leaking a little grease in the winter temps, just wait till things warm up. You might consider using higher temp grease so it doesn't run on ya. I did mine over a year ago and I don't recall the name on it. Hasn't run at all.
I used the harley brand grease and it hasnt been oozing latley, only cause our temps have been 45-70, mostly. The weeping came back in Oct/Nov when we had consistently high temps in mid 80s.
Thanks to all for the responses, I'm going to properly check the neck this weekend.

just be aware that the specs in your manual may or may not be accurate anymore. dawg had previously sent me a bulleting from hd that changed the number of swings on the fallaway test. actually increased the number by one.
I put the chrome wind deflectors on my and could feel the wiggle, took them off after a couple of weeks.Could not feel it all the time but if conditions were right I could.

That's the problem, the HD grease is not thick grease and will run out when things heat up....
You can over grease the triple tree, too much is just wasting grease.Anytime I ever feel the need to tear into the steering head always wipe bearings clean and use high temp grease, that resists dripping.Think about how little this bearing actually moves.
just woundering why the bearings need to be greased inbetween replacement or assembly , I am a mechanic on industrial equipment so I am not dumb but the bearings move so little I don't under stand why they need to be greased ? I can understand the adjustments because of the pounding they go through but not the grease inbetween replacement , can someone make me smarter , thanks

I would only use the H-D recommended grease even if it drips when it gets hot. Using grease of a different viscosity WILL SKEW the results of the swing away test. A thicker or thinner grease will affect the swing test results. This will make the neck bearings either tighter or looser than spec., which could result in a handling irregularity.
Think about it...thicker=more drag....thinner=less drag...the overall result of the swing test are affected by these factors and the clamp load on the bearings.
