dont do it! i bought a 2-1 and the transmission mount bracket needed some modifying to be really secure but i had a ride coming up so i figured that i would deal with it afterwards.

well, afterwards, i found that because the pipe was not as secure as it needed to be, that it broke an exhaust stud off in the head. luckily, my indy was able to extract the broken piece without having to remove the head. but it still cost me $120.00.

Well a bit of an update ...picked up my bracket at HD Pompano, $4.50+tax no shipping! Got a couple of gaskets and headed home.
My youngest son (25) called and came over so it became a "father & son" project, 'kinda makes you feel "a bit secure" when you have a Certified BMW Master Tech checkin' your progress and yellin' "enough" when you're about to overtighten and strip some fasteners or "where's your friggin' torque wrench in this mess"? ...8]
Anyway we took our time, BSd for a while and it came out picture perfect, no issues. Started the bike and sounds great, no leaks, vibrations or noise. Was 'kinda late so I'll test ride it today a bit and then just ride into the sunset with the OL.
One of the things we talked about is he's doing a 1 yr. internship at a Ferrari dealership and then they send him, all expenses paid (all) to either Modena or Marannello, Italy for about 5 months training!!! Friggin' awesome! I told him, 25 yrs. old, no wife, no kids ...dang! can I go?!
Right now he's at a BWM dealer and also "pitting" with one of the Mazda Rolex Series teams when they race the Southeast. Pretty smart, savvy kid.
Anyway, my apologies for the long and a bit off subject post, but hey, proud dad ...you guys understand ...8]
It all worked out ....TIA

How do you afford so many of those?? Most are anywhere from $300-$700 each aren't there??

Like many of us do, shop around, negotiate and sell at a price you break even or at least can deal with the loss. I lost +/- $50.00 on the V&H I recently sold, but the experience, the "hunt" and trying them out ...priceless!! That said, these might or might not be my last set of pipes, who knows?!?
You do your own and what feels good to you, bottom line.

Something I learned long ago is if you can not find something after turning everything inside out, buy another and it will suddenly appear.
