Took my bike to the dealership via towtruck using roadside assistance thru HOG, then once there the service dude went out to my bike to do his thing and noticed my little cluster with the inner fairing ( not why I was there, bike will not start), he noticed some fading and said we can replace that too, I said I dont have the money to do that and he said we can do it under warranty, he made my day, even with my bike down, so anyways I have a renewed love for HD and HOG, went home and renewed my HOG membership(expires this month) and then upgraded the roadside assistance. now I just have to wait 7 days to get my bike back, now I am glad the weather sucks!!!!!
Glad everything is going to work out for you.
With the economy.....I would think service techs are looking for work to do.
Warranty work would be a no-brainer
I had to use the HOG Roadside assistance once (had the upgraded service). Broke the rear belt (had to be a stone that was picked up from the road). They towed it 35 miles to my house (do my own work). Have nothing but good to say about the service I got from the Roadside assistance "team"...they even checked up on me.
However, I never used my HOG membership. Never attended events nor joined any local chapter. Mainly kept it in order to get the HOG roadside assistance. Cost about $60/year (membership for HOG and the roadside assistance).
I talked with GEICO (my insurance company). They provide roadside assistance for motorcycles. Cost....$15/year. Same coverage that I got through HOG. Saved me some money. Can't say how they will be compared to HOG, but I have had my cars/trucks towed by them and never had a problem.
Always good to hear about good service, especially by dealerships. That's really great! Wish my dealer would have replaced my inner fairing when it started to fade....spots.
i won't waste another dime of my money on hog. i tried to use roadside assistance once. picked up a nail in my tire (laced wheels, tubed). ended up sitting on the side of the road for 6 hrs. hog never did get me. after waiting a couple of hours, my wife rode home on her bike, hooked up the trailer to the truck and came and got me. that took about 4 hrs, during which time hog was never able to get anyone to come get me. f em.....
