Default Question if I may...

I have looked and searched, but can not find a definitive answer.

What year Fat Boy Rear Wheel will fit my 07' FLHX with no modifications? I want to change my rear wheel to a Chrome Fat Boy Disc and then upgrade the front to a 21"...

Thanks in advance for the information/advice. And please, don't start the arguments about non-matching wheels on the bagger looks unfinished on this thread...I have read those and just want the advice, not opinions.

Thanks Brothers,

Schmidtty

ok - I'll take a stab at this. According to the 2010 Accessories catalog part number 41262-08 (solid disc wheel 16" rear) fits 00-02 Softail models and 00-08 touring models so I'd conclude you would need to look for a 2000 to 2002 wheel.

Note for this same style wheel there's a different part for 2003 to 2007.

See page 681

If you just want to buy a new one the chrome Fatboy wheel part number 41026-08 16" rear fits your bike (again, according to the book - page 684).

This link might help. I used it when I was sizing up custom wheels on my Wide Glide.

To add more to the confusion, you do know that you can use a 1200C wheel instead of a Fat Boy wheel....I did.

I think the 2000 touring bikes have a 3/4" axle where the 2007 has 1" so I don't think the sportster wheel will fit on your bike.

I think I've got a 2002 Fatboy rear wheel in the garage somewhere in a box if you decide you want one.

Same wheel, different bearing inner diameters, Mike

I believe 2005-up Sportsters already have 1" bearings in the rear....Either way, no big deal. Just swap bearings if you have to.

Not quite that easy, 3/4" bearing wheels do not have a large enough ID to fit the spacer for the 1"/25mm bearings and it IS NOT recomended to bore those wheels to fit the larger spacer.
