I got a chance to test the shield out today. I couldn't get it to fit at first. I had to take a dremel and open the outer hole a little bit to get it to fit.The other thing I noticed was a noise at about 2k rpm, the shield would start to vibrate and make a buzzing sound.
Once I got out on the road I was very happy with the shield. I had a 6" windvest before and this shield is much better. I still had a little buffeting but not as bad.I rode into a 20 mph head wind and it worked well.I then took my half helmet off and there was no buffeting at all. Not sure if this means I should go a little taller or not.
I am 5'9 riding a 09 street glide with a stock seat & 8" shiled. I took the bike up to 90 mph the sheild worked very well. got in about 200 miles. Overall I like it, I think with a few tweeks this thing will be very good.
I'm curious did you notice any differance in the handleing of the Bike? I had to go back to my 8" Recurve yesterday and on my ride I could feel a little differance in the stability. Just wondering if you felt any change.
I'm not really sure.It kinda seemed a little twichy but I've only had the bike about a month and yesterday was the most wind I've ridden it in. Did you feel more or less stable with the new one?
Hey SciFi...did you receive your new version (revision 2) of the Xstream yet? I'm still waiting for mine to get delivered and thinking that I mine as well just send it back; especially after reading your review about the distortion and holes not matching up.

I did seem to notice the difference from the Recurve and the X-Stream. When riding on the highway yesterday with the Recurve the bike did seem to be a little less stable then with the X-Stream. I'll have to wait till I get the new version before I can check this again.

Not yet. It was only to be shipped out today and so far I've not received a shipping notice. I'm sure it will take as long as it did to get the first shield once it does ship.
As for the distortion when riding it was a non issue for me when I actually was riding the bike. Yes if you bend down and look through the shield things look a little distorted but when I'm looking over the shield it was not even noticeable to me. I'll have to wait for the 2.0 version before I can test this some more. I need to ride up a hill where my sight line comes down to see if its a problem. Matt at LRS did mention that they expected there to be some distortion but compared to the KW shield he said it's considerably less.
I'm waiting for someone to make the batwing fairing for the fatbob that is a clamp-on. One that will fit like this one only a full fairing. Also, it has to fit ape hangers.

I know they make them for Dyna models, but you might have to go to the single headlight.
