Had the same thing happen on my Road Glide. There is a collar under the switch. The guys at the Dealer told that they had mistakenly reinstalled it upside down or backwards when they adjusted the swing fall away. Not sure if this is your problem, but your post sounded like what I wrote down for the service writer.

I need so help. I just finished a handlebar install on my 2012 Streetglide. O got everything back together and now my ignition switch will not lock back into place. I watched the video and tried to align my tumbler with a screwdriver, is this wrong? I was able to lock my forks and even turn the switch to run by using a screwdriver. I turned my bars all the way to the left like in the video and locked my forks. I still can't get my ignition key to lock back into place, it just rolls around on the stem. Please HELP!!!
