Default Tree Lock/Ignition Switch

I have a 2002 Electraglide. The keyswitch, on the tree, will not turn to lock or go to accessory. Instead it is on all the time where you dont have to use a key to start it. The key will turn in the switch, but it wont lock.

Is there anyway this can be fixed ?

All help appreciated,

Fuji

Have you tried pushing down and turning at the same time? If I recall correctly, my 05 required that....I think?

You didn't mention anything about recent work involving removal of the switch but if there was: Go to YouTube and enter Harley ignition switch removal in the search bar. Pretty interesting and it may be of help to you.

there is an excellent video explaining the removal and re-install of the ignition switch handle, if you search for it in youtube, it's in there. i've already got it saved in bookmarks, as i know eventually it's information that will be helpful.

I have watched all the video's and my 02 Roadglide won't cooperate. I can push the detent button with a screw driver and turn the key to the left about 60 deg past the unlock position but the switch won't pop up. It seems to want to but when I wiggle it a little the bike will turn on and function normally even with the key turned past unlock.

Any suggestions before the stealers laugh at me.
