Default Heat Demons Install Question

Hey guys…
I’m installing Heat Demons on my ’08 Road King… Got everything installed and tested. They are working. However, I have a question as to where to hook the power up to? The directions say to connect the power wire to an orange & white accessory wire back by the battery. I cannot find that wire. It also mentions or using a wire by the headlight.
Where do you guys recommend powering these up from on an ’08 Road King?
Also, rather than running the red & black power wire down the outside of the handlebars, I ran them down the inside of the handlebars, out into the headlight area and then followed the large conduit of wires under the tank back to the battery area. Anyone see any problems with this? I figured why not conceal the wires if you can?

Thanks for any assistance…

There should be a extra o/w wire in the headlamp nacelle. The fairing bikes have one that I used for that. Mike

Sorry... "o/w wire"? What exactly should I be looking for? Will this require the auxillar switch to be turned on for power to the heaters?

the o/w wire is hot when you turn on the ignition switch.

Ditto, worked great for me last weekend. They are right in the headlight bulb harness. My only thing was the chrome switch housing didnt seat & fit as well as I expected. I had to drill out one of the holes to make it fit better.

But DAM they Get HOT!!! A++ on functionality

Thanks much guys! So, I am going to use the extra orange & white and black wires that are on the same wire harness as the headlight wires... Should have the job finished in 5 minutes now. I already tested that the heaters work, and they heat up nicely! Just want to get my baby put back togther though... Still curios as to what "o/w wire" stands for though? I'm sure that it is something that I'll slap myself on the back of the head after finding out...

Thanks again...

jgreg65,
Was it the switch housing on the clutch-side that you had to drill out more? Cause I had a hell of a time getting that one installed back on cleanly. Maybe I should take it back off and hone it out some... I don't want to end up wrecking any of the wires coming from the Heat Demon control...

That's exactly what I did. Yeah it really doesn't fit as perfect as I would like but once I honed out one of the screw holes it sits much better. But it is DICEY at best when drilling it. I had someone hold it "really" tight when I was doing it.
