My wife has a real hard time getting on the EGC due to her knee's so she dosnt ride anymore with me,we have thought about a sidecar for many yrs but I believe the trike would be the best for both of us.One reason my Softail only has a solo seat.

A bit on the pricey side but when you consider the price of a Tri Glide, it's a push since you've already got an '09. There's several handling options available. I haven't ridden one so this isn't "hand on" info but I have read several reviews. Some of the guys in the Trike section may have some first hand info on this. No doubt, 3 wheels is better than none!

 

I have a good friend who was having trouble with handling his heritage at slow speeds due to a weak knee.

He traded for a tri-glide last year and rode it more in one year than he had ridden his heritage in the previous four. He is happier, safer and will hopefully get another 20 years of riding now that he has gone trike.

I know if I had to have the three wheels to stay safe and comfortable, I wouldn't hesitate to make that move.

Well I say no matter how many wheels it takes keep the wind in your face. We got my wife a Tri-Glide 2 weeks ago & she loves her trike, Yes this is her second trike & she Loves the harley trike 2010 model Tri_Glide better then any other Trike. I have been on 2 wheels for 40 yrs & hope a lot more but when it gets to the point of enjoyment I will proudly move to a Trike. I have been putting more miles on it than her right now & Yes a Trike is a whole new world of driving bikes. Just make sure to get the electric reverse on it which is harley being stupid for making it a option. At close to 1,200 lbs before riders 90% of riders would not be able to roll it except down hill.

Well, for one, they are not cheap.

I'm 54 and my knees are gettin to be a problem. I may not be able to hold a touring bike up in the near future (man does that suck!). My wife will not ride in a sidecar, but she will ride on a trike so they are starting to look good to me too.

 

I will consider them one day too. RoadRunner has an article about attending Lehman's trike school in the new issue.

 

Hell yeah I'd ride one. I was riding baggers before they were "cool". I simply like the comfort. The V-Twin dealer show had a handful of trikes there with some wheels and what nots on them.

 

I'm a convert with a 2010 Tri-Glide,been ridin all makes forever,well at least 50yrs.Momma and I and my sales kit put my Ultra 2 wheeler at around 1500 # at a stop light with oil and grease under my left foot.Momma's too pretty to go down like that so I got a trike.Only trouble is that now too many chics wanna ride.That is why we have these things isn't it?

 

Slight hijack here. Would not a Ultra with a sidecar be capable of carrying more luggage, etc. than the trike? You lose the saddle bags and the trunk does not look any larger than the Tour Pac.

Also, how easy is it for the OL to mount a trike? Seems like stepping in and out of a side car would be easier if the passenger is suffering with any joint problems.

 

Passenger loading is easy.Maybe more storage with sidecar.I haven't any hack experience just advise that they need adjusting and can eat tires.They look good though.It would be nice to look down at the cleavage,slap me will ya.
