I have the adjustable rider's backrest and I love it! Install was a breeze and you can remove it easily if you don't want it on all the time. Mine is only removed if I have to take the seat off. I like to be able to adjust it as I ride since I get pretty uncomfortable sitting in one position for too long.

The backrest if great for lower back support. i have a herniated disk (thanks to a cager who "didn't see him") and the backrest gives perfect support. The 38's the wife sports are great for my back and ......

Enjoy the backrest

I have one on my RK...and it's blessing on them long rides....also for us vertically challenged people it make it easier to back the bike up.

I also have the adjustable back rest and just love it. Now if they would make a pad that felt like 36c's, I would buy that too. :-)

I don't know about this whole back rest thing... When I first got my bike, I ordered the HD adjustable backrest. After 1 ride, I knew that I wasn't going to like it. But I kept it on for a week, but never got used to it. So I sold it and bought another accessory for my bike... That was 1 year ago. But I've again been reading many threads about how great they are, so I went and bought the bracket for the non-adjustable backrest for $30. I used my parent's backrest from their UC for a few days, but again couldn't get used to it. I tried adjusted and bending it every which way, but it's just not comfortable for me.

It could be that my seat (Sundowner) does an adequate job of providing lower back support, so I don't need the back rest. I've never felt a NEED for a backrest, but I'm always looking for more comfort (although I'm not uncomfortable at all). So for me, I think I'm done searching and trying out backrests...at least as long as I have my deep bucket Sundowner seat. But if I ever go to a solo seat, I may revisit the idea.

The Mustang back rest is far superior in my opinion. It pivots so that it is always flat to you back and it is height and angle adjustable. Had the same model on a metric and on my electra glide. Mustang will let you try it and you can return it un damaged if you get it direct from them.

Now that's some funny chit. In all seriousness I installed a backrest last season and I agree, it was one of the best investments especially on long rides.

I would not ride for more than 10 mins without one. I have the HD adjustable one, one of the best mods I made.

be safe JIM
