i got caught in a down pour last fall, i couldnt see crap!! half helmet with shades on, ride an 07 ultra with stock shield, any suggestions for this other than dont ride in rain????? lol
Any windshield I don't have to look through . . . there is nothing worse than having to figure out where you are going through wet glasses and a rain-streaked shield.
I have a Clearview with recurve . . . works great in and out of rain.
I also have a Clearview with recurve and a Vent I agree it works really great in all conditions mine is I think 9.5" I like to see above it .

First off, don't ride in the rain with shades on. You want to use clear or yellow glasses. Second, you should not look through a shield, even on clear days. They say it distorts your view, but I have a 12" shield on mine and look through it, I sit up and look over it when it rains, though this is not the best method, and I plan to change to a 9" soon, but I don't have a helmet with a visor on it. That is in the plans too.
Rain-x works fine, used to use it on my old Kawi Concours never bothered the plastics, but try it in an inconspicuous place just to be safe. Use it on my visor on the Shoei and haven't had any problems.
+1 I like most guys here am constantly trying and studying windshields and buffeting issues. I broke down and bought a Windvest 9.5" with recurve two weeks ago on a Thursday before a long weekend ride to the beach. These guys break the record for customer service. They overnighted to the shield to me so I could have it for the long ride and discounted the shield to offset the cost! Great high quality product.
8" Clearview with recurve. The shield come up to about chin level on me, and the rain still gets mostly pushed over my helmet. It's the one in my sig pic.
