Default '08 & '09 Steet Glides
A buddy of mine is looking at purchasing an '08 Street Glide. A friend of his (female) told him that there have been a lot of problems with the '08 & '09 Street Glides.
Has anyone else heard of problems with these bikes? Any truth to this?

I've got an 08 and all I've done is basic maintenance, oil, tires, brakes, etc. in 18K miles. That is if you don't count all of the upgrades.
My neighbor has an 09 and the only problem he has had is a broken saddlebag support.

Haven't had a single problem with my 09 and haven't heard of anyone else having any problems. Ask her to elaborate on these problems

your friend doesnt know what shes talking about i have 2 09 streetglides and havent had a problem with either.

I have an 08 and haven't had a single issue. Oh, wait, a bulb went out in one of my guages! I'm at 8600 mi

The 08's had a fuel pump shell recall. The 09's with the new frame weights about 35lbs more, if that's a problem. Keep up with the maintenance and they will last a lot of smiles. Tell him to have fun with his new SG, and ride safe.

only issue i've had was with the rear suspension air valve. easy fix under warranty. There are some front tire issues that you can read about on here.

Another 08 Sg here and no problems so far. If I had the choice I would probably do the 09 due to the new frame and wider tire/fender in the rear but I'm real happy with the 08.
