RE: How does the Roadglide handle compared to bat wing

Why do people ask about the head light thing???
You push your left bar to go left, meaning your head light on the batwing goes in the oposite direction and the headlights
on the Road glide go with the fairing.
Not to mention that a bike leans through a corner, not steered into it. I've just been shaking my head at those comments for years. DOH!
RE: How does the Roadglide handle compared to bat wing
I used to think the RG was really strange looking......now when I visit the HD dealership....the RG catches my eye more than any other model. The shark eyes fairing looks good on the bike I think. Plus it seems like you can get more wind in the hot weather since the fairing/shield is further back than the batwing. I need to rent one soon.
The fairing not moving while turning would be a non-issue for me since I still have a sportbike and the only the bars move as well. Plus I'm looking thru the turns.....not at my bars, fairing...etc.
RE: How does the Roadglide handle compared to bat wing
Ive never riden a Bat bike but when riding with my friend who has an E glide he says he needs to back off at about 80 mph because it starts to feel unstable while Im good to go at over 100 MPH with the shark nose.
RE: How does the Roadglide handle compared to bat wing
Sound like your one step closer to the "DarkSide!" I used to hate the way the RG looked too. After one of my friends bought his I test drove it and I got rid of my RK. The whole deal about the frame mounted fairing is so overdone it's like saying you stare at the sterring wheel while driving around in your car! I never even think about the fairing issue until someone asks or brings it up.
The local dealers here can't keep the RG on the floor everytime I go by the dealer there is a new one so someone is buying em up.

Zook....nice bike!
I agree - I also look through the turns - However, for someone who has Never ridden a fixed fairing - a persons Peripheral Vision is very sensitive to "Motion". After riding a RG for a week - I became used to the "new motion" and it was a non issue. This so impressed me that I "googled" Peripheral and learned a lot. What I came to understand is all that was happening was my brain was receiving a "new" movement that I was not used to... Eventhough I was looking through the turn - my peripheral was picking up the new motion that I was not used to... Kinda like picking up a drink expecting it to be Budweiser and actually it is lemonade (nothing wrong with lemonade) but a person not expecting that will have a definite reaction to the taste... Same thing here...
As stated - know your limits or the bike will bite you in the butt...

I put a lot of miles on 2 EG classic rentals and not unstable at high speeds at all.....at least the 2 bikes I rode weren't. 80-85...very solid....sorta ran out of steam at that speed though.

So if I read this right, does this mean you're going to get a RG w/a cupholder installed and have it filled with lemonade?

LOL - thanks for the laugh..... You are right about one thing - getting a RG - actually, turning my FLHT into a FLTR as we speak...
RE: How does the Roadglide handle compared to bat wing
Just got my RG and have put 750 miles on it, have to say it`s the nicest bike i have ever ridden.
Real windy today and it cut through it like a knife, solid bodied Goldwing would be all over the road.
By golly i`m in love with two things, wife and the Glide. in that order of course.
