Default rain x

Just wondering if anybody uses it on your bike and if so does it help. I used to use the original on my vehicles until they came out with the windshield washer fluid and that works great. Anyway I just washed my bike and figured I would try it but if I am planning a day trip I will not usually do so unless it is a nice day. On an extended trip though a person never knows what to expect. Just wanted to add that I did try to search first and got some security violation, whatever that means...

Default Rainx

Not sure but I believe it is NOT intended for Motorcycle Windshields. I have found a product made for windshields that works great. I will get that info for you when I get back to the house.

Its been awhile since I have used Rain-X on a vehicle and it always did work good. I know the old Rain-X was for glass only and could cause an issue with clouding the plastic if it was used on anything not glass, I think there was a warning on it. There may actually be a Rain-X safe for plastic now I am not sure, if there is it would more than likely work good. Just make sure it says it is safe for plastic because it does not take much to cloud up these windscreens.Just my

Don't use it on your windshield or it will cloud it up and ruin it.

What he said. I found out by phucking up a faceshield on an old helmet.

Rain X will "craze" the plexiglas or any resin type windshields....

Crazing is small stress cracks that occur over time....

It takes about a year to notice it

I use Wax or a standard plexiglas cleaner..

Rain-X is for glass. If you got glass on your bike, use it there, and no where else. For the plastic on your bike, use a plastic polish like Plexus - works on bodywork, painted tins, windshields, helmets, faceshields etc. Of course, don't use any polish on a denim painted bike - except the windshield of course.

BTW, Plexus is awesome - available at most non-Harley motorcycle shops. Honda has a version that is cheaper, but is not as good, like a diluted version. I'm sure Royal Purple and others have their version of the same product.

I have a clearview shield that I can use rain-x on, but thought it was a waste of money because I look over it not through it. I now use 50/50 peroxide to clean the bugs off and wax after.
