My bike started running on 1 cylinder on a 104 degree day 500 miles from home. I limped it to a dealer. PCIII bad, stage 2 HD download and a new fuel injector. PCIII apparently exceeded the duty cycle of the injector and burned it up (according to dealer). Could not run stock fuel map that far in that temperature and had to pay for an HD fuel map that was close to my setup. Three hundred thirty bucks and the dealer cut me a legitimate deal on labor, which did save me some money. Good news is the bike ran cooler and gas mileage went from 38 to 45 mpg. Go figure.

I had the PC 3 on my RK and the last year that I had it the bike kept crapping out. I was afraid to take it out in the end as it would start and then limp home if I was lucky (this was a 99). I took the pc off and it ran fine after that but I was still to nervous to ever trust it again. Have the sert on the 08 so I hope it doesn't go south someday. You always take a chance with anything electrical. That's another reason I'm not so thrilled with the new throttle setups. Give me the cable anyday.

Had a PCiii on my Dyna... Had the same problem twice... in the end, I got some silicone grease on the connector and wrapped the connector with nylon and then taped it all with black electric tape... never had a problem since...

The two times this happened was after a good wash!

The good thing about the SERT is that if it goes bad it will do so in a box on my workbench while I am out riding as it is not a piggyback device. Don't think the TBW has much to do with programmers going bad. Seems as though the piggybacks are the only ones with troubles.

And a high percentage of the problems are just that. No need to have a panic attack about Power Commanders,
