A friend of mine is going to buy a 2010 streetglide.Do they have Cat. converters or is that just Calif.bikes.And does that new nightstick have cats? Thanks
Someone had posted a web site that was about B&M Performance cutting the cats out and rewelding the headers on the 2010 Harleys and all the 2009 and 2010 CVO's.I took the muffler off my 09 SG just to check and thank god,no cats.
Yes, the '10 SG and RG have a Cat, it can be removed fairly cheaply. (100.00) or less. (I haven't done that yet) The Nightstick is just a slip on muffler. So to answer your question, no the NightStick doesn't have a Cat, LOL
I was informed here on the Forums that the o2 sensors in the 2010 2:1 pipes are located really close together. The fuel management system might be hosed due to o2 sensor crosstalk if the cat is removed. Ioped to spring for some tapered headers instead.
YES..ALL 2010 SGs have Cats, and they are in the head pipes, so slip-ons won't fix the issue. You gotta buy new head pipes, or i guess hack up the existing by drilling them out?? I don't know anyone that has done this, but i do know that when i was looking to change the exhaust on my 2010,and go to a dual muffler system, i found out that i couldn't even use stock take off head pipes form a 2009 SG because the O-2 sensors were different.
My advice would be to look into a sytem that is designed for your specific bike and will all work together. These modern EFI bikes are very touchy, don't cut corners. It would really suck to spend $20 grand on a bike and have it not run right cuz you tried to save a couple hundred bucks on an exhaust.
Most aftermarket systems make the bike run BETTER then stock anyway, amazing what a difference it make when you let them breathe.

Not quite right. Yes, the 2010 O2 sensors are different, but you can remove the CAT from the header and do a dyno tune and run great. Most over on the CVO forum send their headers to Fullsac (www.fullsac.com) to have them cut the header, remove the CAT and re-weld. Many also use Fullsac's muffler cores which come in 3 sizes. Or use slip-ons in combination with the CAT-less header.
You can NOT use CAT-less '09 headers on '10 Touring bikes. I have used Fullsac and with a dyno tune and SERT, run great.
