Oh yeah this thread is all good, but all inputs are now are in one ear and out the other. The "Motor Man" has already PMd me and gave me 2 options.

Iclick, I know you mean that tongue in cheek, but it seems to me that too many guys seem hung up on the "for race application only" tag. (As you well know,) it only means that the part isn't street legal. (Or as is the case with SE255's, they aren't street legal except in certain specific combinations). The tag doesn't necessarily mean it's actually meant for a racing bike, nor does it mean the part is particularly racy. Just not street legal, which usually translates to not EPA compliant.

Oh, shoot. I was just about to dust off my soapbox. (na, not really)

Yeah, my tongue was firmly embedded in my cheek with that post, and clarifying it was a good idea. I just find it amusing to envision a dresser equipped with 255's or anything else in a race situation, although they could have just as well have used "For off-road applications only," which is even more comical. They might've said "These cams are not certified for street use," which would be a bit more straightforward, but I'm sure the lawyers selected that wording over the alternatives.

Wow, never known you to be so snide, but WTF ever. Well maybe the Motor Man got more info on your buddy's riding style so a viable suggestion could be given which was MUCH more than we got for input, hence my post about how your buddy probably rides, in of which, would make a difference in cam selection.
