Question Rain Gear

Those of you that do a lot of traveling on your bikes. What rain gear do you wear? In the process of looking for and buying rain gear, like to know what's out there. I was going to buy the HD gortex line, but they discontinued it.

Man, this has been covered a lot here. Do a search ' cause there is mucho info on it. In the meantime, I wear the HD Overpass and am very satisfied with it. Have worn it in extremely heavy rain and stayed dry.

If I had a chance to do it all over again, I would buy myself a pair a gerbing heated pants /jacket and gloves instead of rain gear.. Don't get me wrong I like my gore-tex raingear, but having a little heat on the old bones would be nice to have on those cold rainy days..

I wear the overpass pants and the gore-tex jacket. Try to find one still in stock somewhere.

HD Overpass gear....pretty heavy-duty (which I've come to appreciate over time). I found the best prices on Ebay.

I have a set from River Road. Works good. The jacket and pants roll up into a sewn in pouch.

$29.99 at Costco. Had it three years with no probs. 11 straight days of rain in Canada couple years ago, only thing wet were gloves (Gortex boots). Can buy a few sets of these for the price of the so called "good stuff". Anyway I'm happy with them.

I've tried various over the years but it wasn't until the past couple of years that I got H-D rain gear, simply because of the recommendations here on the forum. Unlike some things with the MoCo, with rain gear I feel you get what you pay for.
FrogTogs - billowy, light weight and easily melted on pipes if you're not careful or make an elastic modification.
Gore-Tex - comfortable and stylish but over time, 3-5 years, the Gore-Tex membrane breaks down and it will leak.
H-D - designed to be used on a bike and in a riding position, heat protection on the legs, good anti-billow closures, reflective, packs well and various styles. I have a heavy and expensive suit for long trips on the Road King and I have a lighter and smaller packing suit that fits in the Licks Solo Bag on my Sportster.
My feeling is that if you are going to ride with purpose (touring and commuting instead of just leisure loops) you are going to get rained on so you might as well have good gear.
