1. Good move or bad move?
Great move. I haven't heard anything bad regarding them
2. Any other suggestions?
Order them from Pez from this site
3. How easy / hard is it to switch them out?
Easy 20 minute job. Ensure that you have the correct torque bit (size #27 if I remember correctly) for the fairing: Someone verify this for me.
4. How easy / hard is it to remove the fairing?
3 screws for the upper windshield, 2 on the lower. Just don't overtighten the shield screws when you install.

I'm thinking of going with the HOGTUNES.

Do a search on this site. Great customer support. He even sent a replacement speakers to a member here that bought them from a different vendor. Also you get a discount when ordering if you let him know that your a member here.
I believe there are two more screws on the bottom in addition to the 3 on the windshield and two below the speakers. (If I remember correctly, You will need to turn the handle bars to get to the 2 on the bottom.) Just don't over tighten and you will be fine. If you don't have someone that can hold the outer fairing throw a quilt or something over the front fender just in case...
Pez' customer relations is number 1.

One more vote for Pez. While placing an order online today (Sunday), I was nearly complete with it and we had a power surge during a storm and the computer dumped. I didn't know if my order went through or not so I emailed Hogtunes and left a phone number for them to call me tomorrow to verifiy my order. Pez called me tonight, on a Sunday!! That's awesome service in my book. I'm in for a pair. Thanks guys
