Guess it means either their not slid back far enough or you have not tightened them down enough. Get a 1/2" breaker bar and crank those nuts down. Then do a couple of hot and cold cycles (get the pipes hot, let them cool down) and tighten them down again.

Probably needs a new clamp. They tend to get kind of washed out (not a flat tightening surface) if the mufflers have been off a few times.

I don't think so on a 2010 Bike...He's probably a little scared to crank those clamp nuts down hard. If you go by the service manual torque, their still loose from my experiences.

I dont think it matters how old the bike is as much as how many times the clamps have been off. Even Harley recommends them to be replaced everytime. IMO, you can get a couple uses out of them.

Of course HD wants you to buy new clamps every time.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I've had my Monster Oval Pipes off maybe six times for different reasons and the clamps still seal fine.

I guess everyone has different experiences with the clamps but so far, I've never replaced a muffler clamp....

If that were totally true it would say "replace with new genuine Harley Davidson Clamp".

I agree with getting a new TORCA clamp. You have to make sure the clamp is flush with the very end of the muffler and tighten to 45-60 ft/lbs. Before tightening, make sure the muffler is far back as it will go on the header pipe.

This happened to a friend of mine on his 05 Ultra. Had the clamps as tight as we could get them and the muffler would slide. We stopped by the dealer and he got new clamps, tightened it right up no more problems.
