Default Primary Wear

I drained my Primary fluid yesterday, and was a bit surprised. I held my finger in the stream for a few seconds and found that when I smudged my thumb and forefinger together, my finger looked as though I had just stuck it in silver paint.

The inside of the inspection cover was coated in silver as well.

I followed the manual and went 10,000 miles using Mobil 1 V-twin.

Is this normal wear?

Personally, I don't like using synthetic in the primary let alone regular engine oil. I use Dexron III ATF, but that's just my opinion. What did the magnetic plug look like?

I've always had dark gray oil (never stuck my finger in the stream) and a few shavings on the drain plug when I change my fluid. I do it at 5000 miles along with the engine oil since it does get full of used friction material and a little metal from the steel plates. Might be overkill, but it's just what I do.

The drain plug was pretty goobered up with very fine particles.

One thing to keep in mind is you are seeing all the clutch disc wear in that oil. I change mine at 5,000 mi and also use dexron III ATF fluid.
