Lets face it, it is not like sitting in your living room and listening to the stereo. Just the road noise alone is going to distort a bit but you will get used to tuning it out and listening to the tunes. Radio volume does accelerate as you do so that is the biggest factor. Get a good windshield to help buffet the wind and you will end up loving the rineharts and enjoying the radio.

Yep, perfectly and if I had to pick one of the two I would keep the Rineharts and change the radio.

While I am riding I actually think my pipes are not that loud, but when I turn my head, the pipes sound a lot louder. I have also had someone else ride my bike and thought, is that my bike? At 70 its harder to hear the radio, but not because of the pipes mostly because of road and wind noise at that speed. Like someone else said, the guy behind you will have more of a problem

The only time I can’t hear my tunes is when the guy in front of me has a pair and he is rollin the thunder

Borderline too loud for long days in the saddle. In other words: perfect! My wife and I use headsets in our helmets for long trips so definately no problem hearing the tunes. On loc trips the external speakers seem to hold their own unless your cranking the throttle.

Well your friends behind you won't hear their radios. One of my buds has them and I have to be about 50 to 100 yards behind him to hear my radio. Not so with my other friend that has Supertrapp SE's.

On my 07 electra glide classic, the rinehart tds sound good and I have no problem hearing the radio. But I will say this, they DID get louder after the build this winter!

What I like most about my Rinehardt True Duals is that at a steady RPM they have a good tone but not too loud, but when you run WOT they are AWESOME. I can hear the radio just fine at all crusing speeds but as others have mentioned, after 70 it's road noise, helmet (if you wear one) and wind that make it more difficult to hear the radio.
