Default Stealer cam suggestion

I have a 08 SG with stage 1, and looking to add cams. I purchased a set of SE 255's off ebay, and for interest sake went to the stealers for there thoughts. The stealers recomended 211 cams. They said I would hate the 255s in and around town and would be un-rideable. The 211s they say are less aggresive and way better for rideability.

Bring it on

the 255 are great in the 103, not so in the 96. Dealer is right.

I know this isn't apples to apples, but I just had the SE 95" BB installed along with some 211's and I like them. I'ved only put 100 miles on them, but the Ultra is a completely different machine now. I have an '05 Ultra that was an 88".

since we are a little off topic, I'm on my 3rd set of cams in my 95" ultra. 211's first, some odd lift and duration black widow cams, now SE204. The 204's are by far the best. They make their torque in the upper rpm's which is good for passing when riding 2 up.

I forgot to add that I ported & polished the heads & done a valve job. My Ultra pulls pretty hard from 2k-6k with the 211's.

timing and duration isn't compatible with a stock 96. If I'm not mistaken, the exhaust valves open too soon and you don't get a complete burn.

Some people will chime in here sometime soon that are pretty much cam experts. If you hear from iclick or Ultraklassik, they'll both steer you in the right direction. Personally I'm going with Woods 6-6 cams, but there are many, many people on here who love their 255's.

There are quite a few guys that use the 255 cams and seem to like them I myself just bought a set also and going to do the install myself. I don't want to build a monster just improve the torque between 2k and 4k rpms for two up loaded down and reliable. Do a search and you will see what I am talking about opinions are as many as there are posts here. Good luck keep us posted.

What RPM range are you looking for, if you want a good ,low end grunt the 255 are great for that they pull very good up until about 4500- 4800 rpm, i have them and i like them a lot, i ride 2 up 95% of the time, works for me, ICLICK you want to chime in here!!
