Default Motorcycle Trailers - Safety/Drivability?

For those of you that pull a trailer behind your bike, what is the impact to:

What brand trailer do you pull?

Give yourself a little more room to stop...
Be carefull around the gas pumps..
Additional wear & tear on the bike nothing to be concerned aout..

      I have an Aluma Mct

I always thought towing a trailer would be cool. That's until I learned about a couple that rode with the polar bear group I ride with. They were coming back from Harley's 105th deal, when they lost control of the bike and trailer. Don't know if it was a flat, blowout, or came unhooked, But it pitched them into the center guardrail where the wife was killed and her husband lost a leg. Real sad even to hear about someone you don't know. So after hearing that I decided to skip the trailer as too risky when something goes wrong.,,

They peeled somebody off of the road coming home from sturgis, got a flat on the trailer, lost it, husband and wife died leaving 3 kids behind. I'm curious about the one wheeled trailers but as far as i'm concerned the two wheeled trailers are an accident waiting to happen. Just my .02

I have a bushtec turbo+2 it pulls great almost like its not there.1 thing to remember is your as long as a small car and don't go cutting in and out of traffic. this can cause a catasrophic chain of events.
The tires are like run flats if for some reason they did go down.
I suggest you do your home work. It took me 6 months of research before I decided on mine but IMO it is the safest I could find.It also has a swivel hitch If you hit a curb or it gets turned upsside down it won't cause you to crash you may cause you to crash from looking back at your $3000.00 trailer sliding on the asphalt.

I have had my Uni-Go since Aug 2007 and use it a few times a year. Never had any issues.

got a Turbo 2 also and it is a great trailer. the bike still handles great, even in the twisties. course with the additional weight you have to remember that the stopping distances are more. haven't seen any additional maintenance needs on the bike. only draw back was a decrease in gas mileage.

      My 2˘ worth

I have two trailers, touring and work...

I run Metzeler tires and go through a rear tire in about 6,000 miles. I also change rear brake pads once a year or about every 12,000 miles.

The touring trailer gets used once a year on vacation and the work trailer gets towed almost everyday.

As far as drivability... no problem keeping up with the pack even in the twisties.

I've had one flat on the trailer and honestly did not even know it was flat until I stopped for gas.

Don't tell me you can't haul it with a motorcycle...

Loaded and ready to go to work...

      another day another job

and this load a 4X8' book shelf

I have had no driveability or safety issues.

          No wear and tear items.

I pull an American Legend "Legend".
