They are nice to have and they don't touch the paint at all on mine.

So do the freedom wings block the same air (I call it the updraft) as the chrome wind deflectors that I have mounted on my forks? I would like to remove the chrome ones if I could get by with the freedom wings.

Nope.....Completely different air.

I have them on my 09 Ultra and I also have the FW Plus. They don't get loose and they don't scratch the fairing either. They're very well made and cut more wind than the stock harley adjustable wings.
Check the Freedom Wings Plus, they cut most of the wind coming from under the fairing.

Check the Freedom Wings Plus. They replace the fork mounted deflectors and they're much nicer. Plus they do a decent job at cutting the wind too.
Sorry, but I find the chrome deflectors ugly.

Odd man out here.

I found the factory adjustable deflectors usually found on like a 09 Ultra nicer than the freedom wings. In both performance and looks.

Another thing was the freedom wings would not stay in position until I tightened them over and over. Did this more than a few times because they would loosen up after a few hundred miles. I eventually took them apart and used a combination of roughing up the spacers and lock tight to give them a little friction so they would stay in place.

Second, I was working under the bike and hit my shoulder on the wing as I was coming up. Broke a fairing nut. The Freedom Wings mount with only two fairing nuts where the HD one mounts with four. A little beefier.

On a pre 09 bike I would be ok with Freedom Wings. On a 09+ with the four required holes/nuts in the fairing..I'd run the HD version. It's about the same price I think?

Don't get me wrong, great product, just I ended up liking the factory ones a little better. Wife still has the Freedom wings on her bike. She's got no complaints.

Took my HD adjustable off on my 08 Ultra and swithed to the Freedom Wings. Freedom Wings much better. I switched so I could also use the Freedom Wings Plus to control the wind from below and they work.
Of course, I removed the lowers as well because I found that most of the lower wind was being directed up the lowers directly into my body.
Completely different ride on the super slab now.

I give A+ for the Freedom Wings and the Freedom Wings Plus .

I agree with LP on only get them if you have a < 09 bike. I had a set on my aftermarket fairing and ended up hating the fitmit. I have the new HD ones on my limited and they are far superior to the freedom wings (granted hd probably ripped them off lol)..

I would think that anyone with a pre 09 bike could get the newer ones from hd and just drill an extra hole in the fairing and put a bolt with nut/washer for that one position. the other 3 holes i think allign exactly. That is what I'd do.

Good luck
