I put a set on mine. At first I had the stock RoadGlide rear crash bars from a 2003. She hated them. Even with rear passenger foot pegs. Those crash bars really dug into her calves. I replaced them with the HD comfort rear crash bars. they angle down slightly and don't hit the cavles at all. SHE LOVES THEM. I am glad too...I had a small <5mph fall over in the rain. those $80 crash bars saved a $600 read saddle bag :-)
I was considering these as well, but I'm not sure that I like the look with the rear crash bars. Afterall it is that stripped down look that attracted me to the Street Glide in the first place. But as you came to find out first hand, I will probably come to love the look of the crash bars over the look of a scuffed up saddle bag. Decisions, decisions.

good point. RG / SG are streamlined. But functionality won on this one. Besides, no one else has them...so it is unique

I like mine due to it breaking up the black in the rear.

What does a set of those bars run at the dealer? Easy to put on?

Get the comfort bars in the HD catolog that have the top bar at angle for the GF leg problem!

145 bucks.

Personally, I prefer the stripped down look of my SG. I have seen black powder-coated front crash bars which looked very nice. I suppose if I were getting rear bars, I might powder-coat the front and rear crash bars.

You can buy the rears from HD already powdercoated black. In my opinion that would be the only way to go on a black SG.

Otherwise you look like every other Glide out there!
