Hwy 129 the Dragon is NOT CLOSED, just a strecth that leads to it..The rock slide is down (2 miles) before you get to Chilhowee Dam...If you want to ride the Dragon just go to Foothills Parkway from Hwy 321 over via Foothills Parkway and that would bring you out to ride the Dragon...So the Dragon itself is NOT CLOSED, just the road leading to it!!
The Dragon is not for everyone.
There is a sense of danger just getting to it much less riding it.
I enjoy it but again easily frightened people need not apply because you're just going to end up hurting someone else with you all freaking out over other freaks doing freaking things.
Last year when we were down there again, we opted out and road the Smoky Mountains and back the Charahola. The Dragon's cool, just a bunch of other idiots
I'm with you Krazy3, I live close to the Dragon. Rode it once was enough for me. I'd much rather ride Cherohala Skyway. Smokey Mountain HD is opening a Store at the Tennessee entrance to Cherohala 1st of April. Right next to Tellico Plains.

+1. The Dragon is a circus. Been there, done it once, and that's enough.
Loved the Blue Ridge Pkwy, the Cherohala Skwy and the Foothills Pkwy.
Smoky Mntn HD is a great money machine. When we went to the dealership in Maryville TN in Aug last year after riding the Dragon, they were selling 00s of t-shirts. Almost every visitor bought at least 1 t-shirt. They have great designs by the way.
That guy is at least a B-cup. Freakin' me out. Men ain't supposed to have ******* like that.
If you live in Tennessee, you should be used to that stuff...lol
The thing that freaked me out, when I retired two years ago and moved here, I noticed alot of women have bigger gut's than the men. Theres some honker's here man...lol
