I'm in the market for a TP, but there's no way in hell I'm gonna pay the over inflated prices for a factory one. And I'm sure not gonna pay retail prices for a busted up used one on ebay. The price on these seems decent enough, if the quality is there.
buy the hardware i just bought a cheap razor on ebay and had about 200 for hd hardware. could of bought a hd razor for about same price and had way better quality.
I think you'll find that once you buy everything thats not included, and pay to have it painted, your not going to be saving that much money vs ordering the factory pack from a 20% discount dealer like Chicago HD or Zanottis.

And the quality wont be as good.
An HD one from Chicago is over $600 shipped, and I'd still have to get it painted as my bike isn't a factory color.........
And unless you've seen one of these, how do you know the quality isn't as good?
If HD has a primered version, I'd consider that if it's cheaper than the painted ones, but I can't find a part number for a primered one.
You should be able to get a primed one...I wouldn't settle for anything less than an HD tour pak...trust me...I already went through it and I like the HD one way better than any of the aftermarket ones I bought...In the end I should've just dropped the coin on the HD one to begin with...would've of saved myself some coin. Total for the tour pak, backrest pad, luggage rack, and all hardware for quick detach was around $1200.00.

If your going to have to repaint anyway, then that significantly sways the argument. You did not mention that in your original post.
