Default Major Warranty Issue Pending

I'm going to have a big issue with HD and want lline my ducks up so I can get through this with as little grief as possible. Would like opinions, advice, or if there are any lawyers reading, legal knowledge.

The bike:
2010 CVO Ultra Classic
mileage: ~950
age: purchase August 2009

I went to go for a ride on one of the first nice days. Took of the 'breathable' cover that came with the bike and was shocked to see that almost every metal part was rusted. Almost every chrome part was either pitted or peeling.

The platinum paint they used to paint SE engines was cover with little white spots, which turns out to be ppits where the paint cam off.

Kept under cover (3 sided carport, or garage). Don't ride the bike in the rain, and when I wash it, I dry it with a leaf blower.

Attached is one of the better examples.

I can't see how they can get this fixed in a reasonable time, especially if they have to repaint the engine. Is there a Lemon Law that kicks in if it takes more than a month to fix. What can I expect from HD? Can they use touchup paint on the engine a cal it "good enough"? Can they offer a refund, but say the fair market value is $25,000 not the $35,000+ I paid.

What other small print on the warranty will leave me screwed to the wall? What do I have to look forward to. I reported it yesterday, and got a request number from Harley, so in my mind the clock is ticking. The only parts that didn't come with the bike, but installed at time of sale are a set of saddlebag guards that don't go all the way up to the seat. This is my 7th HD, and I am a life member of HOG. I don't supposed that counts for anything.

Anyway, where do you think I stand?

Worried

Wow! Interested to see how this turns out...

I do have a couple questions...

Has your bike just been sitting under the cover all winter (for several months)? If so, how long has it been there, and when was the last time you washed it?

I guess one assumes that using a cover over the bike will keep the moisture off... I would think so... are you near the coast (I am)? Just wondering if salt water air is a factor...

If this is no joke and it's really as bad as you say it is.....I would be beside myself. I can't even imagine. Please post more pics. Do you live right next to the ocean? Even if so I can't imagine the bike deteriorating that much that fast. I would be just sick!

If this is for real, I'd say after looking at your photo, this bike either sits within 1/8 mile of the gulf of Mexico, the Pacific or Atlantic Ocean. Either it sits near one of these salt bodies or you have a salt pile real close to your bike. Again if this is real.

That part you show looks much older than something purchased in the last 4 months, and has definately had some salt spray on it. the white residue is a give away. If this is the case I don't think HD will stand behind it.
