When you feel the turbulence, put your hands (one at a time) along the top edges / sides of the tank and see if that's where your air is coming from.
I found that the wind was coming from underneath, not from over the top, so I went with Hogg Chopps lowers, and stopped the turbulence, with combination of lowers, stock seat, and standard height clearview windshield. I'm 6' with a 31" inseam.
concur with where the wind comes from on the FLTR (all directions). I have lowers, and air baffle installed. very little wind now other than around the windshield now. did I mention how hot the ride can get in mid-summer with lowers?
Make sure to check out the Cee Bailey's shields. I considered bothe the KW and CB. Went with the 13" CB and very happy. Had the medium ht Clearview and wasnt that happy with it.
dklanecky, are you saying from under the fairing, or under the flares in the windshield?
Nothing is coming from under the flares in the windshield. I have an 09, and the air baffle came stock with the bike in 09. I noticed they dropped that piece off the 2010's.
I suspected it was because the cats would add heat, and the MOCO suggests to remove the air baffle in "warm" weather riding to aid in cooling.
I think the most turbulent air comes up from under the fairing, on either side of the tank.
If you decide to go with the Klock Werks shield, I have a 12" tinted that I'll sell for $85 plus shipping. I love how it looks, but I'm 6 feet tall and get a little too much wind on the highway to hear the radio cranking it up to the point of being obnoxious.

What tint is the shield that you have for sale?
I am 5'6" riding an '07 FLTR. Is this shield for the Road Glide or Street Glide?
If it is for Road Glide, I am very interested in buying it from you.
It is a Road Glide shield. It is a fairly dark gray/smoke color. I'll make a note to try and find a picture of the bike with the shield on it when I get home tonight.

I just looked and your'e correct, no baffle. I was not sure what I was looking for so I compared to my bosses 09. i don't see the baffle in the catalog,is it a special piece like CVO parts that I need to go to the dealer for part #ers ? Thanks for your help.
Klock Werks makes an asserted effort to provide their dealers with demo sheilds in various sizes that their customers can try out before you purchase.
I would suggest asking your dealer if they offer this then try for yourself which size works best for you.
