the one you labeled "primary, 1 of 2. so when you drain the primary with the drain plug on the primary case you do not nee to touch the other one. what is it there for?

I believe that was where they plum in the engine temp gauge.
It's the drain plug for the crankcase. You pull it to check for sumping. 1/2 cup oil is good. The one to use for your oil temp gauge is the one marked "crank" in soos's picture.

Watt those bolts where. I did the same thing but I cant unscrew mine Im thinking its for the oil son that sits there in the bottom of the crank case. Maybe you could drain it out that way
