0000 Steelwoll, with a bit of WD-40 always works for me when that happens.

Lacquer thinner. Soak a piece of paper towel in lacquer thinner and place it over the melted plasic. Let it sit for a few minutes and then rub it until the plastic is gone.

Maybe some Goo begone, if it is thin. Worked good the other day on a cheap plastic cover.

Default SOS pads...

And a little water. The steel wool is softer than the chrome, and the soap combined with water gives some lubrication. Works every time - just don't use too much pressure and make sure the pipes are cold (unless you just enjoy burning your fingers)

I have had good luck with just getting the pipe good and hot and then taking a rag (while wearing a glove) and wipe the junk back off. Usually take a bit of riding to get it hot enough....been know to cross two state lines in order to get the thing warm enough....

After ten hours with Easy-Off I'm still left with half the crap on the pipes. Will try paint thinner later today. Not happy!!

i melted my frogg togs on my bike once, and the only thing i had available to me on the road was some turtle wax bug and tar remover. since i didn't have anything else, i tried it, and lo and behold, it actually worked. if all else fails, you could try this. worked for me.

Try using some of that black tar you and the other SNCOs call coffee. The 1stSgt used to make a pot of it; couldn't feel my hands after a cup.
