Just installed the in dash temperature gauge on my 09 EGC and was wandering what is the maximum temp that I should be looking for. Have no engine cooler. Thanks

It should be between typing "engine temp" in the search box and hitting the "Go" button next to it. There are waaaayyyy too many post on here in the archive for me to answer this question. This is your homework for the day.

Thanks for the input. After installing this I found myself checking on it all the time. Wasn't sure if this was a good idea or not. And thanks for helping me on my home work.

Normal operating temperature is 230 degrees F per the manual. So if it is up to temp it should be around 230. However, what is above normal, do not know.

why do some members keep on doing this? it took fireaxxe 3 to 4 time more typing then it did onthefence to give out no information.

if you are not going to answer a question, then let it alone!!! imo

"Normal" isn't necessarily optimal, and I wouldn't want my oil running 230° most of the time. As it is with a cooler installed I peak at 230° in summer traffic, hitting that only a few times per summer season, with normal temps staying around 200° while moving during the summer and 180° in winter. To me that's a good range that won't oxidize the oil very rapidly, as the hotter it runs above 180° or so the quicker it breaks down (oxidizes).
